As a way to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, here’s my personal ranking of the 61 films that are part of the Disney Animated Canon. These are the feature films made by Walt Disney Animation Studios beginning in 1937 with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This was no easy task. I had to wrestle with myself over whether or not Tangled was a better film than The Little Mermaid, I had to balance how much I was willing to both reward and punish Fantasia 2000, and my decision to rank The Emperor’s New Groove so high on my list above so many other high caliber Disney classics seriously made me question my sanity, but I basically followed my heart as much as possible and this is genuinely how I feel. You may not agree with the choices but you may understand me and my taste in film a little better.
